Voting for the eighth-term Legislative Council election of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region concluded today. Dr. Johnny Ng, a longstanding supporter of Hong Kong’s Web3 development, advisor to Web3Labs, and candidate in the Election Committee constituency, was successfully re-elected with 1,311 votes.
Dr. Johnny Ng stated that the election had been highly competitive and that he was deeply honored to have secured re-election. Over the next four years, he said, he would continue to deliver on his platform and further advance the development of Hong Kong’s financial and technology sectors, with a particular focus on Web3, artificial intelligence, and other emerging industries, in order to create new engines of economic growth for the city.
In his election platform, Dr. Johnny Ng pledged to accelerate the development of Hong Kong’s technology industries and leverage innovation to expand the city’s overall economic opportunities. He also committed to further strengthening Hong Kong’s position as an international financial center and to speeding up the creation of new economic growth drivers.
Looking ahead, Dr. Johnny Ng said he would continue to actively listen to the views of both the public and industry stakeholders, while contributing to the continued development of Hong Kong and the nation.
