The world’s first DePIN flagship event — DePIN Expo 2025 — concluded successfully at Hong Kong Cyberport. The conference brought together global industry leaders, academics, and developers to focus on cutting-edge applications of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN), AI, and Web3, while showcasing more than 20 innovative projects. The event highlighted Hong Kong’s strategic position as an international DePIN hub and marked a new chapter for real-world infrastructure and economic models.
When real-world assets converge with blockchain technology, RWA (Real-World Assets) is rapidly moving from concept to implementation, emerging as a core bridge between traditional finance and the Web3 world. According to industry data, the current global on-chain RWA market accounts for only 0.2% of offline assets. However, with the implementation of Hong Kong’s Stablecoins Ordinance, rising expectations of SEC exemptions for DeFi regulation in the United States, and continued policy openness in jurisdictions such as Dubai, the RWA sector is entering a critical breakout phase driven by both compliance and innovation.
In July 2025, amid Hong Kong’s accelerating efforts to build itself into an international virtual asset hub, Web3Labs entered into a strategic partnership with Plume. Leveraging the regulatory framework of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the compliance guidance of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), the two parties are jointly building the first bridge program dedicated to institutional-grade real-world asset tokenization (RWA), creating a compliant channel of interaction between traditional finance and the blockchain ecosystem.
