November 6, 2025 | Hong Kong — As part of the Hong Kong FinTech Week series, the forum “Anchoring the Future: How RWA Is Reshaping Global Asset Liquidity” was successfully held in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The event was hosted by Plume, co-organized by ITQM and 币网界, jointly executed by Web3Labs, ME, and Techub News, and supported by Hong Kong Cyberport and the Hong Kong Digital Asset Listed Companies Association. The forum brought together leading Web3 institutions, representatives from Hong Kong-listed companies, and industry experts to engage in in-depth discussions on topics including RWA, Web3 ecosystem resilience, and Hong Kong’s compliance-driven innovation, exploring new pathways for the convergence of traditional assets and decentralized networks.

Opening the Forum: Building an Ecosystem Dialogue Between Traditional Finance and Web3

At the opening of the event, Mr. Caspar Wong of Web3Labs delivered welcoming remarks, noting that as a global financial hub and a testing ground for Web3 innovation, Hong Kong is advancing RWA as a core bridge between traditional assets and the decentralized economy through its evolving compliance framework and infrastructure development.

This was followed by a keynote speech from Shukyee Ma, Chief Strategy Officer of Plume, who outlined the underlying logic of RWA across the value chain of asset digitization, value tokenization, and the restructuring of global liquidity. She also shared Plume’s practical progress in bringing real-world assets such as real estate and fine art onto the blockchain.

Panel Discussion: Interpreting Web3 Resilience and Identifying Hong Kong’s Emerging RWA Opportunities

The forum’s panel discussion featured representatives from institutions including Plume, 国富量子, and FOMO Group, who explored a broad range of issues including Web3 ecosystem resilience, the communication of Web3 value to traditional institutions, the core elements of business operations, and ecosystem opportunities in Hong Kong.

Panelists from the Web3 sector noted that the rise of RWA in the current market cycle is beginning to reduce the volatility traditionally associated with crypto-native bull and bear cycles. By bringing real-world assets on-chain, RWA not only injects a value anchor into Web3, but also enables DeFi platforms to evolve from vehicles for purely crypto-native asset circulation into tools for cross-domain asset allocation.

Representatives from traditional institutions also shared their perspectives on serving traditional institutional clients. Their teams typically frame Web3 as delivering value on two levels: first, as a set of asset digitization tools that enable fractional issuance and cross-market access; and second, as a global liquidity network that improves capital efficiency through DeFi protocols. They noted that institutions are increasingly considering a model that combines traditional asset management with Web3 tools, allowing clients to more intuitively understand the risk-return structure of such business models.

With regard to crypto asset allocation, panelists explained that teams often approach the topic from the perspective of alternative asset diversification, using Hong Kong’s compliant custody framework to help traditional LPs better understand the role of digital assets as a risk-hedging component within a broader portfolio.

When discussing short-term opportunities for RWA and Web3 in Hong Kong, panelists broadly aligned around two key themes: vertical asset tokenization and infrastructure deployment. In particular, they noted that the tokenization of commercial real estate and art, as well as on-chain financing for cross-border trade assets, may be among the first areas to see meaningful real-world implementation.

Web3Labs x Plume Bridge Program Announces Selected Projects

In July 2025, Web3Labs and Plume entered into a strategic partnership to jointly launch the first Bridge Program focused on institutional-grade real-world asset tokenization, with the goal of creating a compliant channel of interaction between traditional finance and the blockchain ecosystem.

Following a two-month application and screening process, the final selected projects for this global RWA Bridge Program were announced as Asseto, RealtyX, PlayEstes, Zona, ArtWise, FireX, and Tortuga. These projects will receive ecosystem support and industry resources from both parties as they enter the formal incubation and acceleration phase.

The successful convening of this forum not only highlighted Hong Kong’s compliance innovation and ecosystem vitality in the RWA space, but also, through dialogue between traditional institutions and Web3 practitioners, offered a “Hong Kong model” for the restructuring of global asset liquidity.

As one of the speakers noted in closing, the core value of RWA lies in enabling the efficiency of decentralization and the value of traditional assets to empower one another in both directions. Hong Kong is rapidly emerging as a key proving ground for this trend.

Looking ahead, Web3Labs will continue to work alongside Plume and institutions across Hong Kong to explore the diverse implementation pathways, opportunities, and challenges of RWA adoption.
